Asia Needs Sporting Independence- Let Woodball Lead
Mr. Ming-Hui WENG
The International Woodball Federation and its fellow associations’ leadership team have stemmed from
comprehensive career paths to merge our efforts, and for the last twenty years we have worked exceedingly
hard to originate and establish the Woodball sport. Therefore, our experience and outlook differ from those
leaders who are involved in the conventional sporting events.
With the economic advancement of significant Asian nations, the growth in confidence to promote its traditions
and culture, we see the movement away from bidding sports Games dominated by Western sports organizations
to value sporting events that are of Eastern origin or preference.
Innovation and diversity is the trend of times, and Asia sporting independence is also an irresistible general
trend. The International Woodball Federation leadership team recognized the need and received overwhelming
support from twenty international sports federations to establish the International Modern Sports Union (IMSU),
and plansn to organize the first International Modern Sports Games in Taiwan.
Due to political interference, location and date is delayed, but International Woodball Federation managements
are working long and hard to ensure that the Woodball sport is leading the way for Asia sporting independence!
